Eterno Meets Mansa: A Kalakaar
We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Mansa Chitlangia Chaudhari, a dynamic artpreneur known for her mixed media art, murals, graphic designs, and gold leaf workshops. Let’s dive into her world and learn more about her passion and creativity.
Eterno: Can you introduce yourself and share your artistic journey?
Mansa: I’m a mixed-media artist, graphic designer, and muralist with over a decade of experience in the creative field. I’ve built a career blending diverse mediums to create immersive art that tells unique stories, whether its 30 feet high wall art or a beautiful piece of canvas. I also run two art studios—one in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, and another in Jalgaon, Maharashtra where I host my art workshops and also provide spaces for artists to collaborate, innovate, and explore their creative journeys. My journey began as a curious child surrounded by colors and craft supplies. Over time, art evolved from a hobby into a calling. I pursued my passion professionally, graduating from the Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, and have been exploring creative avenues ever since. For me, art has always been a way to express, inspire, and leave a little piece of myself in everything I create.
Eterno: When did you first realize art was your calling?
Mansa:I believe it’s in my genes—my mother has a natural flair for creativity and an incredible aesthetic sense that she brings to everything she does, while my father is a passionate writer whose words are a testament to his imaginative spirit. This unique blend of visual and literary creativity shaped me into the artistic soul I am today. I’ve been immersed in art since I was three, attending classes and workshops. These experiences shaped my creative instincts, and I realized art was not just a hobby but my way of interacting with the world.
Eterno: Where do you draw inspiration for your paintings?
Mansa: Nature is my muse. Early projects centered around flora, fauna, and landscapes ignited my fascination. Nature symbolizes growth, resilience, and interconnectedness, and I strive to capture these themes in my work. It’s a journey of constant exploration.
Eterno: How do emotions or life experiences influence your work?
Mansa: Emotions play a huge role. As an extrovert, my art reflects my energy. High-energy days result in bold, vibrant pieces, while introspection brings softer, pastel tones. Each piece is authentic and deeply personal, shaped by my mood and experiences.
Eterno: Do you have a favorite piece you’ve created?
Mansa: One standout is a work inspired by a band called Sting’s “A Thousand Years.” I translated the song’s essence into an artwork, about life’s journey—from a tiny speck in the universe to becoming the universe itself. What made this piece unforgettable was not just the depth of its concept but the realization that I could create something so profound. It was a pivotal piece for me, even receiving acknowledgment from Sting’s team. That moment still gives me goosebumps.
Eterno: Are there specific techniques or styles that define your work?
Mansa: I’m known for my mixed media and gold foiling. Nature, especially leaves, is a recurring motif in my work, symbolizing growth and individuality. I’m inspired by Van Gogh’s bold colors and emotions, which resonate deeply with me.
Eterno: How do you see the connection between your art and jewelry?
Mansa: Both art and jewelry are about storytelling and self-expression. Just as art reflects the creator’s emotions, jewelry allows wearers to express their personality and style. Both are deeply personal, timeless, and often carry sentimental value.
Eterno: Are you a jewelry enthusiast? If yes, what’s your go-to piece?
Mansa: Absolutely! I adore rings and long earrings—they’re elegant and versatile. I love oxidized jewelry for its ability to complement both traditional and modern looks. Anklets are another favorite; they add a playful yet chic vibe to any outfit.
Eterno: What do you like most about Eterno?
Mansa: Eterno’s timeless designs and unique pieces stand out. Each creation tells a story, blending modern innovation with classic beauty. It’s more than just jewelry; it’s wearable art, and that resonates with me.
Eterno: Thank you, Mansa, for sharing your journey and insights. Your passion and creativity inspire us!
Mansa: Thank you! It’s been wonderful connecting with Eterno. Here’s to creating more art and stories together.
